Seven years ago we met at Dartmouth, in a little town called Hanover. Three and a half of those years stretched between Memphis and Amsterdam — a long-distance love story with a great many airports, and worth every mile.
Then Lyndsi moved to Amsterdam, and after years of goodbyes at gates, we were finally flying home in the same direction.
Our next chapter started, happily, high above Lake Lucerne with a proposal and a yes. Now we're gathering the people we love the most in the French countryside — and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate with you there. Come early, stay late. There will be long tables, good wine, and a lot of dancing.

Champoulet itself is a proper middle-of-nowhere. We've reserved three hotels 25–45 minutes from the venue that offer the best mix of convenience and proximity to the main event, and shuttles will carry everyone to the venue and back to their hotels on the wedding day.
We suggest arriving Friday afternoon and departing Sunday after brunch, but we understand schedules vary. For guests coming from the US, Canada, or Mexico, a Monday departure may be easier, since flights back to North America tend to leave Paris in the morning.
Arriving Thursday? We're planning some optional activities on Friday, including a wine tasting in Sancerre, for anyone who's in town early.

A Relais & Châteaux inn in Boismorand set amid woodland and rose gardens. Characterful rooms and one of the most storied tables in the region — lovely for a quieter stay with a memorable dinner.
A charming maison d'hôtes with a swimming pool tucked into the village of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire. A quiet, storybook stay for groups or couples who want to wake up to birdsong and breakfast in the garden.
A well-loved country hotel and restaurant in Sancerre. Characterful rooms and one of the region's most beloved tables — lovely for a quieter stay. It's also the family hotel of Domaine Henri Bourgeois.
Gien is also a nearby station (~15 km out), but Nogent-sur-Vernisson is closer and the one the hotel names directly. From Orly, it's about 137 km — a direct taxi or car service is a reasonable option if you'd rather skip the train transfer, especially since traffic tends to be lighter than the CDG side. By road it's roughly 1.5–2 hours from Paris.

Our favorite spots in the region — vineyards, villages, and more to fill your stay.
Perched on a hilltop above the Loire, Sancerre is one of France's great white wine villages — its steep, chalky slopes are where Sauvignon Blanc found its benchmark expression, giving the grape the crisp, mineral style it's now known for worldwide. Beyond the vineyards, it's a proper medieval village: cobbled lanes, a 14th-century tower, and cellar doors tucked behind stone houses, most of them happy to pour a taste if you ask.
It's an easy, beautiful place to wander during your stay — take a slow walk up through town, stop into a cave for a tasting, and take in the view over the vines.
A few things that come up often.
Shuttles will run from Sancerre, the surrounding areas, and Auberge des Templiers to the venue and back again at the end of the night. A detailed schedule will follow closer to the wedding.
For anyone who wishes to arrange their own transportation, please note there is no parking available at the venue.

Europe runs on 220–240V, not the 110–120V used in the US — a plug adapter alone won't fix this. Most US hair dryers, and many Dysons, are not dual-voltage and will not work in France even with an adapter (some will simply burn out). Straighteners and curling irons are the same story unless labelled dual-voltage (look for "110–240V" on the tool itself).
Our hotels all provide hair dryers in the room, so you don't need to bring your own. If you have a favourite straightener or curling iron, either bring a dual-voltage version with a plug adapter, or pick up an EU-voltage tool once you arrive.
As much as we adore your little ones, Friday's welcome reception and Saturday's ceremony and reception are adults-only. The Sunday farewell brunch is the one event where kids are welcome — come join us for that.
If you're travelling with little ones for the weekend, we'll leave babysitting arrangements up to each family.
Late June in the Loire Valley is generally warm and sunny during the day, with highs that can reach up to 30°C / 86°F, cooling down in the evening to around 16–18°C / 61–64°F — we'd encourage checking the forecast closer to your travels. The ceremony is outdoors, with some walking between grassy and gravel areas, so comfortable shoes are worth considering.
Yes — we've hired an incredible photographer to capture every moment, so we ask that you leave phones and cameras away during the ceremony. We'll make sure you have all the photos to look back on afterwards.
